Howard adds more character development in this one too. Harry has a softer side where his family is concerned, including his stepmother.

Loved this book but it's very short! I'm hooked on Harry Starke and love them all but couldn't believe it was finished so soon. Not really long enough to make me feel satisfied fully. Also why wasn't Harry's little brother mentioned in any of the previous books? Did I miss something?
I was very impressed with the attention to details...for example, descriptions of the artillery/guns and the plots as the characters planned and plotted. Blair really kept some suspense up his sleeve too as you tried to figure out who the culprit was.
This was the second of his books that I have read and I'm already waiting for the next.
Blair Howard has done it again. This is not a typical "Harry Starke" novel in that it is not a mystery. It is however a captivating story of murder and evil vs. the inevitable determination of Harry and his crew. I literally couldn't put it down. Bravo Blair!
Howard is my favorite new Author! This series won't let you down! I raced through the two kindle boxed sets and was so excited to see number 8 has been released. The Characters are believable, and the story lines connected. This is a really great read!
I have read all the Harry Starke books and have loved them all. This one is fast moving and another winner. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is because the construction is not quite as tight as the other books. If I wasn't nit-picking because the other books in the series are so good it would be five stars. You can't go wrong with this one if you like big macho heroes and action.
Blair Howard's Harry Starks series is my new favorite. He keeps changing it in surprising ways. This time instead of having to solve a mystery, he seeks retribution for a family member's murder. A bit darker and more violent than previous books but engaging. I read it by lamp light while waiting for Hurricane .Matthew to leave. Kept my attention off the storm. I hope you read it in calmer weather.

If ANYBODY messes with my little brother, it would be the last time they ever did something like that!!! You might have ‘opened the gates of Hades and released the damn Kraken (an enormous mythical sea monster said to appear off the coast of Norway.)’. If you did, you might survive. However, if the Kraken doesn’t appear and I do instead and I have turned into a monster, you are in big trouble. I was with Harry the whole way through this book. Do not read it if you have a weak stomach. Do read it if you can relate to the characters in the book. I highly recommend this book (and this series).
